A few minutes more is the bus station opposite one of the many local schools and a short stroll takes you to the town centre. Wednesday is market day and can be reached with a pleasant walk along the Via Verde, no more than about 7 mins. 

Baza has great amenities with at least 5 schools, a modern and efficient medical centre, numerous bars, shops, and supermarkets including Lidl and Consum. Baza hospital with its air ambulance serves the wider community and is situated on the edge of town close to the motorway and just a short drive from the property. It is also rich in history, celebrated with the recently renovated Arab baths and the bullring, still in use at least a couple of times a year. The town's museum is located in the Plaza Mayor which also houses the beautiful Catholic Church as well as the council offices. 

Lake Negratin is 15 mins away and around its 26 miles are beach and picnic areas, ideal for the sunny days spent swimming and lazing in the sun. There are beaches about 20 mins away in Aguilas, Mojacar and Vera with its water park. An hourís drive will take you to the city of Granada which is steeped in history and features the fabulous Alhambra Palace.
